Weathering with you / 天気の子 Thoughts...

So recently I went to watch one of my highly anticipated anime movie since it was released in Japan few months back and was finally showing in the nearby cinemas on 9th September.

Weathering with you / 天気の子 directed by Makoto Shinkai

As I was sort of late to the hype train of the previous film of Your name / 君の名は。, I still enjoyed the movie very much and proceeded to bawl my eyes out in certain scenes especially with the accompanying music played by Radwimps that made the scenes even more enjoyable and emotional. I'll get more into the films in another post so that I can keep this post spoiler free as the film is just only recently was released and I don't want to upset those who want to watch the movie totally spoiler-free.

 okay
This is the story...only she and I knew about
If you have already watched the trailer of the movie, you would basically know the basic plot line of the movie.
"A high-school teenage boy runs away from his home to Tokyo that is constantly raining and meets with a mysterious girl that is able to control the weather"
I'll try my best to talk about the movie without giving any spoilers away.

First off, the visuals and animation of this movie is just the best.
There is nothing more to describe it than being absolutely beautiful and eyegasm to watch. Every sing time the weather changes from raining to being clear while blue sky or cloudy evening with the sun in the background just reminds me the joy of watching anime. I would say that the animation of this movie beats out all of Makoto Shinkai's previous work including Your name / 君の名は。. I actually grinning from one side to another when there was a 180° rotation pan from facing the character until behind where you can beautifully see the background weather with the characters.
I still remember the scene so beautifully that I still get small goosebumps when I listen to the music which brings me to my next point.

The music is entirely composed by Radwimps again making the movie even more enjoyable to watch.
However, I would say the music for Your name does a better job of making each and every scene unique, relating more with the song. Don't get me wrong, I still can relate each song for Weathering with you with different scenes but not as much as Your name. Maybe the fact that I have watched Your name almost a dozen times compared to the few times I have watched Weathering with you could have something to do with it. but regardless, the soundtrack and music is still very much like a Radwimps song and makes the film even better than it is.

Taking a step down, I'm gonna talk regarding the plot a little while avoiding spoiler territory.
I would say the plot of this anime movie is very simple and direct. It does follow the same story trope of Your name. However, there was less gut punching moments or waterfall tears compared to Your name. This was a nice turn of experience, at least for me, as the film went to a little lighter zone but did showcase some of the dark zones but not as much. Many people or reviews (that I have found after crazily looking around of this movie) that I found say that the plot is just not that interesting or predictable soo much that it just doesn't bring the movie up as great as Your name. If you have watched Your name, it is only reasonable to think that this movie is going to be better. My advise is to just watch the movie as it is to truly enjoy it. Don't compare the movies as each movie shines in different areas. I can't wait for Makoto Shinkai's next work if he ever starts another project in the far future.

I think that is all from me. My mind is still boggled from watching the anime film. From the music and visual aspects, it definitely wouldn't bother me if I watch it again multiple times in the cinema.

Hopefully you enjoy the movie if you are planning to watch it.

When you start to take things slowly..

It is amazing how clear my mind becomes when I am just sitting blankly in a quiet environment thinking about things that happened in life all around me that makes me appreciate all the things that happen to me be it good or bad.
The only reason why my mind is thinking more frequently this way and why I am currently updating and writing this post is because I'm far away from my laptop (where I will always be mapling or some other stuff than updating this blog) and currently using a tablet with a wireless keyboard making use of free time other than browsing youtube or the web. Mobile games tend to turn me off at some point due to the high power usage and using a tablet that has no data is quite hard maintain constant playtime back home.

Hope everyone is doing well. Currently spending my sem break holiday overseas. However, this is one of the holidays where I feel like don't deserve it due to some studies problem and others. Like I know I should learn from my mistakes and everything but it doesn't change that feeling of worthlessness that I have. When you actually put in so much effort and time only to see all of it go to waste for nothing. I am very grateful for the support of my close family that really encourage me but my mind always wanders off..
What about my friends?
What about my future?
What will the seniors and juniors say?

I always convince myself to always put the thoughts of myself first before thinking about what other people would say. I can control what I think but not others. But it is still very hard and painful to listen to demotivating words or thoughts that may not be even conveyed  properly.

Some people say you need to be happy with yourself before you be happy with anyone else. Spent time with yourself first before opening yourself up to people.
But why does it feel so hard for me to do that?
Should probably learn to tackle this problem in the future...

Since I have a couple of free time away from my laptop and unable to play any games that take up most of my time, I would probably to try post something again soon. I recently saw How to train your dragon The hidden world and Alita Battle Angel so maybe I could write my own reviews on them but the movie might not be showing anymore in cinemas  xD.

I guess thats it for now

Till next time, CryZ
